dinosv Posted October 6, 2006 Report Share Posted October 6, 2006 Help !I bought a Dell PC which came installed with Windows XP (Service pack 2) but for some reason bluetooth seems to be non existant. I recently tried connecting my mobile phone to my PC but it just wasn't happening.I went in to Control Panel to try and enable Bluetooth on my PC and it just doesn't exist! Not under 'Printers and other Hardware' or anywhere else in Control Panel. I can't find anything relating to bluetooth under Device manager and when even when I type bthprops.cpl in 'RUN' nothing happens!I might be doing something extremely stupid but it suspiciously looks like my Windows XP SP2 has no buetooth!Help ! ? ! ? cozofdeath Posted October 6, 2006 Report Share Posted October 6, 2006 With sp2 you only have to plug the device in and Windows should use generic drivers, unless it can't for your device then a 3rd party or manufacturer driver must be installed. If your not getting an error after running bthprops.cpl then you should have the file. I'm not using any bluetooth devices and both bthprops.cpl and irprops.cpl do nothing. If you really don't have the bluetooth files, which came with sp2, you should go here and follow all steps but #3. Instead of the 3rd step just change MaxNtServicePackVersion to 65536.
