hell monkey
I've had a problem with explorer.exe and have been trying to fix it for ages with no luck and now I'm too late for a restore. When I open folders I have downloaded from mininova with utorrent (both of which i trust) there will be a slight pause before an error message that explorer.exe has to end etc. I tried opening a .avi file from the folder before it ended with WMP but it has the same error too, however, when trying another file manager (2xexplorer) and another media player (VLC) it works fine. But I want to fix the original windows components, so I'm looking for a solution apart from reinstalling windows, I would be very gratefull for any advice Thanks! :)
Scarecrow Man
Insert your Windows XP CD, and go to Start > Run > sfc /scannowIf you cannot get to your start menu, you can also press ctrl+alt+del and go to File > New Task (run) and use the same command. cozofdeath
Have you tried changing the download directory and renaming the files after they download. Not sure if it will help but a lot of times torrent files and p2p files have long weird looking file names. Mininova is awesome.
