cmptrgy412
After a few problems with my computer I realized a couple services weren't starting. Turns out svchost.exe was missing. I managed to get a copy of it and stored it back in the system32 directory, but everytime I start windows, it's missing again. Now, hopefully temporarily, I have a batch file that copies a svchost file from my desktop to system32 directory and starts the needed services. Of course it's gone when I restart my computer, or after a certain period of time. I've been searching the internet and cannot find a solution. Thanks for your help
cozofdeath
Have you scanned your computer with several anti-malware programs. Are you sure after your computer boots that svchost.exe is no where in your tasklist? Because if it wasn't your computer would have serious problems. Like on my computer svchost starts over 30 services, all of which are very important. You may want to check every startup location on your computer since svchost only gets deleted on startup. Many people on here recommend Startup Inspector. Also Process Explorer from sysinternals is easy to use and gets into the nitty gritty details of the processes running on your computer.
