Geforce 6600GT multiple monitor problems

I've been having trouble with a game or two which would suddenly die in the middle, so I thought to update drivers. Bad choice.

First of all, HW:

ASUS A8N-SLI mobo

two Giga-byte GV-NX66T128D video boards

emphasis: SLI is NOT enabled on either the mobo, or on the video boards.

I've got three monitors connected- two to one of the boards, and one to the other.

I started by flashing the video boards. I downloaded vga_bios_gv-nx66t128d_f2f11f21f32.exe from the Giga-byte site, dropped to a DOS prompt, and ran the tool. Both cards reported they had flashed successfully.

Upon booting to WIndowsXP (SP2), of course, it promptly blue-screened. crying.gif

Well, that's not too surprising, since the video drivers hadn't been updated. I booted to Safe Mode w/ networking, and confirmed that Giga-byte doesn't have any newer drivers than I already had installed. Hence over to the NVidea site.

I downloaded 91.47_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe and installed. I can now see two of the monitors (both connected to the master video card, the one which shows the boot screens), but not the third.

Device Manager shows the second video card as not functioning (surprise, surprise), with the status message: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Checking the Nvidea site (http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_13957.html), I find that this code apparently relates to BIOS settings in the mobo. Going into the BIOS, I don't see such a setting in the BIOS, or something I'm comfortable as assuming is the same. sad.gif The BIOS is set for PnP OS.

So... suggestions? Someone out there with an ASUS mobo knows what the correct setting I'll need to change? Heaven-forbid, do I need to flash the mobo's BIOS as well?

Help- I really like having all three monitors!
