If your computer is fairly modern (less than five years old) there is usually a temperature monitoring facility available. It would be worthwhile doing some temperature checks when the CPU is working fairly hard.You might also look inside the machine and check for accumulations of dust and dirt on fans and heatsinks. Is there some controll pannel option I need to turn on to have it accessable to me? My computer is about 6 months old and vista capable (I'm running Windows XP pro on it), so I feel like it should be available, but I have never been able to turn it on. Where should I look? -pops- Posted November 6, 2006 Report Share Posted November 6, 2006 Temperature monitors (also fan speed indicators and other similar things) are normally included with the motherboard drivers/accessories if you have a motherboard drivers disk you will most likely find them on there is not already loaded.The monitors might already be installed under an odd name. ASUS call their monitor ASUS Probe. INTEL call theirs INTEL Active Monitor.If you don't have a monitor installed, check the make/model of your motherboard and search the manufacturers website to see if you can download it.
