Windows Vista Unformatted the formatted HDD!

Hello!

I have a trouble.

I installed for testing purposes the new Windows Vista. Everything looked fine, Vista is on the HDD, and it is running. Then, I started installing the softwares I need, the whole is on my second HDD.

I have 2 HDD's:

First one "C" - Where the Windows operating system is in

Second one - Where my datas storaged

So then, I am not able to open the HDD with its files, it just comes with a message "HDD is not formatted. Format it?", and in a software it looks like "Unformatted".

It is a 200GB HDD, with a free space of 30GB. So, how can I restore the filesystem of the HDD, and what Vista did with it?

It seems strange that something like this could have happened but, if what you write is true then it is important that Microsoft are told about it.

The reason for pre-launch testing such as you have been doing is to sort out potential problems like this.

You should be aware, thought, that Microsoft state that you should have backups of all essential data before embarking on testing work like this so if the files have been lost, then there is no recompense.

You have written that the files are very important. If that is so then you ought to have had backups of the files already, even without the added possibility of them being altered/lost/hidden by Windows Vista.
