masefield Posted November 17, 2006 Report Share Posted November 17, 2006 Apologies if posted in wrong place. I have a philips webcam (SPC 300NC) complete with microphone. I can't get the microphone to work I do the relevant microphone test but no bars move up the scale. I have checked to ensure that the microphone is not muted volume is well up but itstill won't work. My son is looking to use with either msn or skype. Camera works fine - any clues for a bit of a non-techie computer person. Many thanks. -pops- Posted November 17, 2006 Report Share Posted November 17, 2006 Have you checked the Master volume control rather than the one that comes up when you hover over the speaker icon in the Sys Tray? Do you have the microphone plugged in the correct socket - normally colour coded pink or is it USB?If you double click that icon you should see the controls for all sound inputs (analogue and digital) for your computer.
