maninexile Posted November 26, 2006 Report Share Posted November 26, 2006 As it happens, I tried to go back to an earlier restore point to recover some files I was missing - and now there is no mouse available. RESULT: when I start the system I cannot click my login-pict to activate my password-screen.Any suggestions? In the NT 2000 version you could at least use your keyboard - but it does ot seem to work with XP? Does hat mean the whole charade is dependent on one tiny.....mouse?Thanx for any help I get. If so, try substituting a USB type.It does seem strange that the mouse should disappear if a system Restore is all you have done.Have you tried the arrow keys? These will move the cursor up and down at least.arrow keys do not work. tried both a wireless usb moue and a regular usb mouse - nothing works. tried to establish my remote network connection, but can't get in contact with the pc that way. -pops- Posted November 26, 2006 Report Share Posted November 26, 2006 Did you try a PS/2 mouse?If none of the arrow keys work there is something more fundamentally wrong with the installation.If you have an XP disk, try a repair or, better, if you have a backup install that.
