IPT
Running Windows XP sp2 on an emachine. Working fine, then suddenly I can't open Work. I keep getting a windows installer window poping up. Apparently it is trying to instal, or re-instal Money. I treid the control panel to remove the program. No effect. I have the "Restore CD" from emachines. I ran it, but it didn't delete or change anything. How can I wipe this hard-drive or solve this problem. I can't do anything with it the way it is. Also, I have no CDs except the "restore CD". Incidently I did just order the Pro Business pack (because I needed Power Point, but I have no CDs yet). I am learning about computers, out of necesity so please be descriptive with your ideas and solutions. Also, I have backed up all my documents and am prepared to start all over! I am also confused why the "restore CD" didn't clear everything. It gave me two warning screens to back eveything up because it was going to wipe it clean. Thanks in advance!!Boy, I should have proof read! I meant open Microsoft Word. However, the window seems to open almost anytime I try to change a screen or start a new task. At times my mouse is real sluggish and unresponsive too. I have run Ad-Aware and deleted any problems. I also have the Norton Internet security running. Thanks :)
