Tony Posted July 7, 2003 Report Share Posted July 7, 2003 HiI suggest getting Smart FTP (ok there site seems to be down at the moment).So get it Here if you want. 5.5mb (i have uploaded it to my webspace for you.)Enter all your domain and login details.Then download the whole site to your hdd.then open DW-MX and define the new site (tell DW where the new site is and give it a name)Then edit too your hearts content, then upload. I can access the help tutorials now and I've tested accessing my site. I just need to know the mo for dowloading the entire site in one hit. Guest moon Posted July 15, 2003 Report Share Posted July 15, 2003 OK, Tony, I've downloaded it. ;) I had a problem in that when I selected 'download' I was offered a folder location drop-down but it was greyed out. I got around that by opening my local drive and drag-and -dropped the online web folders into my pre-arranged folder. It took and hour and a half on ISDN at 7Kb/s so it's quite a big site. It has presented me with four folders called ' Certs' 'Logs' 'Users' and 'Web' When I upload, using Dreamweaver, do I upload all four or just 'Web' ? So i would say that if Smart FTP has downloaded them folders, then them folders or also on your webserver, it has not just made them for you.I am guessing that the website will be in the Web folder, logs is not that important,but the other two i am not sure about.Does the site have a User log in feature on it? that could be the User folder.Here is a screen grab off mine, You will see the top window is my web space and the bottom window is my PC's hdd. All i do is drag and drop the files/folders i need.Inside the folders are all the files needed, for example the file named Nomads" hold all the files & folders needed for my cricket website, all the forum software is set up in there aswell.If you are still having problems give me a shout.Tony Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
