llcoolc Posted December 7, 2006 Report Share Posted December 7, 2006 Ok I'm trying to set up my modem so it will be Wireless. to do that I have to go to http://192.168.0.1 the web site comes up but then a few seconds later it will say Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage. what can i do to get on that website?? -pops- Posted December 8, 2006 Report Share Posted December 8, 2006 Please be aware that the address you gave is not an Internet website, it only takes you to the workings of the router in order for you to set it up.It is best to set up routers and modems using their wired capabilities - Ethernet or USB and then arrange the wireless settings when you know the system is functioning properly.As Pat states, you do need the manual in order to find the best set up procedure. You can also try on the manufacturer's website to check for setup instructions.Ping: Start -> Run -> type cmd [OK]. In the command prompt window you type ping 192.168.0.1 [Enter]; this should show you whether the address is visible to the computer. The address is most likely your modem or router, and you need to access it via your browser to set it up.If you are not successful, give us some more details, e.g. the exact model of your modem and/or router.
