Metallisoft
My problem is that I cannot remove the read-only flag from any folder within my system. My user account is domain-based, however I've added it to the security tab on the HD with full control and propagating to everything below. I verified that my account was listed on several subfolders with full control. When I Alt-Enter a folder, the read-only checkbox has the tri-state check (for you vb'ers, its vbGrayed) Usually this means that several items beneath this item are readonly, not necessarily the current item. Fine, I uncheck it, hit OK, get the dialog promting to make the change to the current item or the current item and everything below it. I select the current item and everything below it. I get the dialog/progress bar showing me it's applying changes, but when I go back to the folder properties, it's still marked as read-only via the tri-state checkmark.I can create folder/files within any folder on the system, I can write to files with just about any application. The system runs fine ... except ... VB.NET won't compile my libraries seemingly because the folder is quasi-marked read-only.Has anyone ever heard of not being able to uncheck the read-only flag on a folder?
