kokobucks Posted December 21, 2006 Report Share Posted December 21, 2006 I've changed my RWIN, MTU and other settings in XP Pro using speedguide.net's TCP/IP Optimizer, but they don't have a Vista version yet.Anyone know how to manually change these settings within Vista? dagwoood Posted December 21, 2006 Report Share Posted December 21, 2006 Hi kokobucks and welcome to WF.I can't help you with finding a tool to change RWIN and the MTU values but from what I've read, Vista monitors your connection and over time will adjust them to what it considers are the optimum values. I was looking for the same type of tool when I had RC2 installed on my system and that's when I came across the info with regards to Vista optimizing these values.HTH, dagwoood. kokobucks Posted December 22, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2006 Vista actually has set my MTU at the correct level. But the RWIN is different. But yes, I too found out that Vista regulates both automatically. I just wish I knew how well Vista did this.I'm sure we'll get a few tools to help regulate it ourselves in the coming month or two.
