Hi All,

I have Compaq Presario v5000 Notebook. I was just going through the BIOS setup and started Hard Disk Diagnostic Test. After that windows XP was not able to start so I tried to reinstall it but Hard Disk is not detected by Windows setup. When I tried to boot it with DOS it does. When I tried it with SUSE Linux it is also detected Hard Disk. I am not able to understand why Windows XP, 2000 or 2003 is not detecting that.

Please Help me out of that.

Regards,

Amit

First of all , Why did you try to re-install your whole system..? Instead of trying to get what you have to boot...

Does your B.I.O.S have an option called "reset configuration data" ..? Look for that and try it...You HDD should be detectable then...

Secondly - XP dosen't have DOS , What DOS-Like software did you use...??
