amit Posted December 24, 2006 Report Share Posted December 24, 2006 Hi All,I have Compaq Presario v5000 Notebook. I was just going through the BIOS setup and started Hard Disk Diagnostic Test. After that windows XP was not able to start so I tried to reinstall it but Hard Disk is not detected by Windows setup. When I tried to boot it with DOS it does. When I tried it with SUSE Linux it is also detected Hard Disk. Instead of trying to get what you have to boot...Does your B.I.O.S have an option called "reset configuration data" ..? Look for that and try it...You HDD should be detectable then...Secondly - XP dosen't have DOS , What DOS-Like software did you use...??
