-pops- Posted December 30, 2006 Report Share Posted December 30, 2006 In case you are using Windows XP rather than 2003 server, which the previous reply refers to, try:You will need to go to Control Panel--Administrative Tools--Computer Management--Local Users and Groups..Click on Groups then Guests..Make user to remove your username from the Guests Group. Reboot after you have done the above. I fought with this for days until I found the solution at www.derkeiler.com. Hope this works for you. Good LuckI got this from here. On the Action menu, click Clear all Events. Click Yes to save the log before clearing it. Click No to permanently discard the current event records and start recording new events. NotesTo open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to clear an event log. After you clear a log, only new events will appear in the log. If you select Do not overwrite events (clear log manually) in the Properties dialog box of an active log, you must periodically clear the log either when the log reaches a certain size or when a message notifies you that the log is full.This is from XP Help & Support. Double Click on it and make the Startup type Automatic from the drop down box. Click Apply. Also click on the Start button to start the service. Click OK. cozofdeath Posted December 31, 2006 Report Share Posted December 31, 2006 When you have the event viewer open, click Action on the file menu and you should see two back up methods, a save log and export. If you were to open the files from your hard drive they would be so jumbled you probably wouldn't be able to read them. Did my other post work for you?
