ddsdavey Posted January 14, 2007 Report Share Posted January 14, 2007 Hi and thanx for offering such a great service.My problem is that after starting up windows tells me that theres a problem with my frontpage and asks for the disk containg frontpage.I have bought my computer second hand so didnt have the actual disk plus i own a Dell and im sure iwas told that even new Dells only come with Windows installed and no actual disk.I have tried my dads cd of 2002 xp sp2 but it dosnt recognise it as containing any of the components necessary.Ive suspected that something wasnt quite right with my frontpage,although i never use it i would like it fixed if for no other reason than its annoying everytime i boot to see that message followed by a Windows installer prompt.I would appreciate any help that can be offered.My version of Windows is Xp home edition,sp2.If my serial no. is necessary for security to fix the problem then please let me know and i wll supply it (to the proper authority obviously!).Cheers. -pops- Posted January 14, 2007 Report Share Posted January 14, 2007 Frontpage is part of Microsoft Office (or a stand alone application) and has nothing to do with windows per se.Have you checked in the list of programs to see if FP is installed? If it is and you don't wish to use it then you can delete it from Add/remove programs. If it isn't, it means that the program was installed at one time and has been badly removed such that there are remnants there. The easiest thing to do in that case is contact the person who supplied the machine and ask if you can have the disk with the program on it (or borrow a disk).
