DOS question ...

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

First time post.

I have a quick question.

I am wondering how can you connect to a server with DOS. I trying to make a bat file that will allow people to input there username and password then it connects them to the server. That is all. I know how to get the variables from the user but connecting to the server is still alluding me.

I am running Windows XP SP2

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

No that wont work. What we are trying to do is have a bat script run when the user logs in. A command prompt will come up asking for the user's username an password once they have enter both of those items then they will need to be connect to a server. The server has connected printers on it. So connecting to the server would be connecting to all of the printers on our campus. Does that make sense?

Thanks for the help!

Do you mean something like the "NET" tools? Would "net print //machine" work.
