Travstar
Hey,Not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.I have a windows xp professional sp2 PC with a gigabyte motherboard - built in vga, sound.the problem is that i can barely hear sound out of the speakers. Even when volume is turned up all the way on the speakers, the sound in very dull. I have tried:1. checked every available volume control in windows including control panel, and provided software that comes with the driver - all up 100%2. removing and re-installing the audio drivers from device manager - still same issue3. getting the latest audio drivers for the gigabyte board from the gigabyte website - still nothing4. getting generic ac97 drivers from the net - still nothing5. installed a pci sound card, disabled onboard audio in bios and used provided drivers with the pci card - still the same!6. replaced the speakers - still the same! (tried the original speakers on another computer btw.. they work great on that machine!!)what else could it be?????????? im going crazy hereAny thoughts would be a great help.edit: Oh, and its a fresh install of xp too, never seen the internet yey, so doubtful its a virus
