Mic Issue.

Recommended Posts

I hope this is the right place for this.

Ok. When i have my headset plugged in and I try using Skype, or Sound recorder I have a horrible echo. Whatever I hear through my headphones can be heard along with my voice.

I went through the Microphone hardware test thing under Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Voice but the only way I got no playback was when it was muted.

Ive been to numerous sites looking for an answer, a lot of the sites told me to update my audio driver which I did. Then they said to go into Volume control properties, mute microphone, then go to Recording control and SELECT microphone. These were the instructions.

1. Download the latest version of the realtek driver (important)

2. double click on the windows speaker icon

3. select playback properties

4. MUTE the microphone in the playback section

5. select recording properties

6. SELECT the microphone in the recording section

Thats where i get stuck again. I cant 'Select' anything in recording control. I cant even adjust the microphone in recording control.

It looks like this:

Its not my headset because I have a brand new one. Hopefully there is nothing seriously wrong with my computer, because I just got it too.

D: Any help is welcomed. Please and Thank you.
