DOHCMustangGT
I have a problem ever since a restore. It shows my hard drive as C and D. On one it has a limit of like 12gb while the other has the rest. Well, the stupid HD won't expand and use any of the larger partition like it used to. Once it fills up that 12gb, it says to free up space. So how to do fix this and open up that HD space?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
That's rather funny, as HD partitioning does not usually happen automatically.Do you have any data on the D: partition? If not, I would just delete the partition, then expand C:If you have data on D:, then you should merge the partitions using a tool like Partition Magic. I use the original version of Partition Magic from PowerQuest for all my partitioning needs, but I don't know if I can still recommend it, as it has been gobbled up by Symantec.Any recommendations for a trustworthy partitioning tool? DOHCMustangGT
I restored the HD and set C to 30gb and D now has 90gb. Drive C was limited in the restore program to a max of 30gb. I don't understand that at all. I also don't know if it will expand once it fills up that 30gb, though. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
What kind of restore program is it that you are using? It is very strange that it would partition your system when it was not partitioned before.
Scarecrow Man
I find GParted works quite well, even if you have data already on the drive.http://gparted.sourceforge.net
