When I log on to to windows xp all I want is my desk top. I currently have owner, guest, choices and then if I am inactive for a while it logs me off. I and my wife use the same desk top and all I want is a simple log on and for it to stay that way until I and the computer shuts down for the nite. Thanks

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type control userpasswords2, and then click OK.

3. Clear the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" check box, and then click Apply.

4. In the Automatically Log On window, type your username and the password in the Password box, and then retype the password in the Confirm Password box.

5. Click OK to close the Automatically Log On window, and then click OK to close the User Accounts window.

For the latter, you must turn this option off via the display menu.

1. Right click the desktop go to Properties

2. Go to Screen Saver

3. untick 'On resume, display Welcome Screen'
