Upgrading my Hard Drive

Rather than swapping the drive you have already, what about installing an external hard drive via USB (assuming you have this facility).

This would be easier than reloading XP - especially if you don't have a Windows disk.

That's what I'm doing now. I was hoping I could get a bit better performance, without resorting to herculian OS gymnastics. Thanks.

Buy Acronis True Image 9 or ten if you are going to upgrade to Vista. Make a Image onto DVD's test it. You should also after loading the Program create a Acronis Rescue CD in the Menu of Acronis. You can then after changing the drives start with the Rescue disc al after choosing Restore put the DVD in and Install the Image onto the new disc. Acronis loads into Memory so you can do this.
