KMG Posted February 28, 2007 Report Share Posted February 28, 2007 Hello,Need help. I have a IBM laptop with XP Pro Oem installed. For the last 2 months I have not been able to install any windows updates. I run the Express or custom and it finds all the updates I need, downloads it... Then they all fail? No errors are given. All it says is that it fails. I have tried to install them one at the time but I get the same problem. So if you could get the error code from the Internet Explorer update status, that would be much easier (for you). Don't you get that a panel like this at the end of the failed update? KevK Posted August 16, 2008 Report Share Posted August 16, 2008 may be a bit late and you may have sorted itbut with this error that i have fixed numerous times, all i have done is this and it has worked fine1. Click Start > Run and type regsvr32 wuapi.dll2. When you receive the message that the DLL has been registered, click OK and perform the same steps for each of the following commands under Start > Run:regsvr32 wuaueng1.dllregsvr32 wuaueng.dllregsvr32 wucltui.dllregsvr32 wups2.dllregsvr32 wups.dllregsvr32 wuweb.dllhope it helpsRegardsKev Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
