Washand Posted March 1, 2007 Report Share Posted March 1, 2007 I am using a PC notebook computer on which Windows XP Professional has been installed, but the language selected at installation was Korean and I want to change the language to English. Apart from the fact that my understanding of the Korean language is limited, changing the settings in the language option window accessed from the control panel does nothing very useful. The Windows installation disk is in Korean and it seems that the odds are stacked against me working this one out. I can't find any useful information on Microsoft's web site (as usual), but I can't be the only person who has this requirement. I want to end up with the computer giving all menus, options and messages in English, and I don't really want to make a clean installation and have to reinstall all the application software - any ideas?Washand Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you have the multilanguage version, then you can change it to any language you want. I was told that the computer was running XP Pro but, in the system information, it says that the computer is actually running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 (with service pack 2). The Windows sticker, which is all in English, has also come to light and it says it is the 2005 edition of XP media center. I'm not sure if this clarifies whether the language can be changed, but otherwise it looks like a reinstallation job.
