Actually my mom, brother and I all have the Admin account but my brother always changes my password on me. Please, if anyone can help. mcb2001 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Share Posted March 18, 2007 to be honest, the idea of an admin account, is that they are able to do so...So i dont think it a good idea to mess with the security core, especially not with some half descent programs (or hacks as you call em).So in your case, i would just beat up your brother, and force him not to do so . . . Brain Ache Posted March 19, 2007 Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 Why dont you set up new accounts for everyone, but dont put them in the Adminstratos group (Power Users Should be OK).Then keep the Admin account separate and change the password - that way your brother wont be able to change yours!Local PC right? At a command prompt, type regedit, and then press ENTER. 2. View the following registry key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies 3. Click the System key if it exists. If the key does not exist, click New on the Edit menu, and then click Key to create a new folder value called New Key #1. Rename the New Key #1 value to System. 4. Click the System key. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. Rename the New Value #1 entry to DisableChangePassword, press ENTER, and then press ENTER again. 5. Change the value from 0 to 1. 6.
