Domain accidentally removed from Windows log on

Recommended Posts

hello guys...i hope someone out there is a lifesaver because i need it.

have been messing around with my work laptop and have accidentally deleted the DOMAIN field option from the Windows XP Log On pad.

all i have now is just my USER NAME and PASSWORD but because my workplace has assigned a domain to me, it can't recognise my logon.

have tried to reactivate the domain field through safe mode but doesn't seem to give me the option.

is there an easy way around this?

p.s. that'll teach me to mess around with company property eh?

thanks in advance for any help.

brett

Welcome to the Windows Forum!

I'm not sure how you managed to get rid of the login domain name field; did you possibly quit the domain? If so, you may need to join your userid back to the domain. You will need a network admin password for this.

There are other people here who know more about networks than me; just wait a while longer if above is not the solution (after all, it's weekend now).
