roytheboy
Okay, so I keep getting this error message when I try to start up my computer that goes as follows:"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM"That's all find and good, I've found a few websites that explain how to fix it.So I get into the Recovery Consule via my Windows CD, and here is where the problem begins. After I get into the recovery consule it is suppose to ask me which windows I want to use and then ask for a password and it never does that. It just immidiately sends me to the <C:\> prompt. What am I doing wrong? And how can I possibly fix this? Thanks so much for your help guys! It just immidiately sends me to the prompt. But isn't that the recovery console? Can you run the system file checker from that command prompt (sfc /scannow)?Have you tried a system restore to a point before the error occurred?
