CoosBayite Posted April 27, 2007 Report Share Posted April 27, 2007 Help! I reinstalled SP2 after a bad virus problem. This included a full format. I now get the warning: "There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server." This is when when I try to go to banking and other financial type (secure) websites. I thought it might be a problem with I'E. so i uninstalled and then reinstalled it. This didn't help. I then installed Firefox which gave me the same type of warnings though I was able to instruct it that I would accept the certificates. Has anyone seen anything like this before?? My Desktop still accesses everything just fine but the laptop with the new install blocks access. The Microsoft Knowledge base has some info on this problem with IE7 but only suggests that you install the certificates or add the URL's that you want to access to your list of trusted sites. I tried this but at the point of entering my account, IE7 would loop me back to the login page. Pretty weird but I'm not too stressed about it now that I can use FireFox. Thanks for he advice though. Raddy Posted April 28, 2007 Report Share Posted April 28, 2007 I wouldn't stress too much about the certificate pop-up...if you know the site you're going to it's not really a problem.
