Want to create a small program

I have a program that takes about 30 seconds to start up due to our slow network. I would like to make a small program so that when you click on the icon it simply says "loading" until the program starts. Any ideas? Thanks

Welcome to the Windows Forum!

Not exactly a Windows Support question; it may have been better posted over here. But we are not so strict around here, so no-one will yell at you :flowers:

Anyway, do you know how to write a program? Do you know any programming languages? Do you have any preferences - C, VB, Java, ...?

There are a couple of splash screen makers. Sorry they are all shareware but if you search for things like "free splash screen maker" and things like that you may find one. I believe all of them listed will inject or allow you to add the splash screen to any executable.

I was going to use VB but don't know much about it. Someone gave me this code and said it should work.

Set WshShell = WScript . CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")

WshShell.Run "calc.exe"

WshShell.Popup "Please Wait",4,"Name of program",0
