SUS and WSUS

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I have a Server that has SUS and WSUS installed and I was wondering how I uninstall SUS. Is it as simple as going to the Add/Remove programs and removing "Microsoft Software Update Services"? Have I got the right one?

There is another program there called "Microsoft Windows Server Update Service" - presumably this is WSUS?

If I do remove SUS will it also remove all the Updates that have been installed on the system - there is a file on the C drive called SUS\Content that has 30 GB + of updates and I want to remove these?

All advice will be appreciated and thanks in advance

Uninstalling through Add/Remove Program is probably the easiest way. You could probably use the /u argument on the main executable as well. If it doesn't remove SUS\Content and you don't migrate it or need it any more I would just delete it. I have never done any of this but its what I've read online. Hope it helps somehow.
