Windows Explorer Error

Recommended Posts

I am running windows XP Media Edition. Ever since my computer auto updated on May 9th windows explorer has lost its mind. I cant open any type of file, copy and paste, move files, drag and drop into any program (say Itumes or Nero). When I try to do so it says that windows explorer has encountered an error and must close. I beleive that something went wrong during my auto update anyone else having this problem? With this problem I cannot do anything that I normally do on my computer, very annoying. I ran adaware, spybot, and Norton. Norton found 1 virus and quarantined it. Any ideas on how to fix this problem??? here Is a print screen of the error. Also when I try to send error report it has an error in the Dr.Watson Debugger, whatever that is. l_07a9d8c31b5d79b2724b35631f06b9ac.jpg

  • Running the system file checker may fix it. Start, Run, type "sfc /scannow", press enter. *You may need the windows cd
  • A restore may work. Start, Run, type "%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" and select a previous date.
  • Or uninstalling the update through Add/Remove Programs *Must check Show Updates at the top of the Add/Remove Programs window
