No Sound

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm having a problem with the sound in Windows, no sound plays and Windows won't recognize any sound device. The speakers I'm using are connected to the monitor which is a Westinghouse LCM-19v1 SL. I'm convinced it's a software problem because on my Linux partition the sound works perfectly.

I have Windows XP Professional SP2. The computer is self built, the motherboard is made by ASRock w/ integrated sound.

Have you tried just plain uninstalling the drivers for the sound device..? , Then reinstall it...

Did that MOBO come with a disk...?

because on my Linux partition the sound works perfectly.

ofcource it does , you've probably got A.L.S.A. running , it's auto detection is superior to windows...
