randy giesinger
Alrighty, so since I'm already running XP, it wont let me install while running xp, and disables the install functionBut when i go to install from the dos (or the boot screen version, i'm not sure what its called), it doesn't detect the external drive...I'm not sure why. Is it supposed to be this way?If it is, how do I get around it, or more specifically, how can I make this work?ThanksRandy
Raddy
You can boot FROM a USB device, but I don't think you can install to it. I think you would have to open the enclosure, put it in the case, boot up the installer, install, put it back in the enclosure, and set it up so your computer boots to a USB device first. mrpiddly
Vista is annoying in the way it does external drives as it will not let me run programs off of them. On my mac, i use a airport with a harddrive plugged into it for wireless data and it works quite well, i can run all of my games off of it with little to no decrease in quality. Then on vista, it comes up with all of these error messages and blue screens when ever i try to do this. can anyone explain that?
