dtw777 Posted June 3, 2007 Report Share Posted June 3, 2007 Hi All, I am constantly being reminded that an update is available for download, namely Security Update KB931784, despite the fact that this update has been downloaded and installed before and appears in the list of updates in Add Remove Programs. Also, if there is any good place to see all of the options for updates.If you run the setup program (WindowsXP-KB931784-x86-ENU.exe or any other update programs) with the /? option, you will get this displayThe /o option most likely corresponds to /overwriteoem.Most programs that accept options will display a Help screen when receiving the /? option. I am very reluctant to use this "Hide" option; unless it's a driver update for a device that I don't have on my system.What I would do if an update is repeatedly offered when it's already installed; uninstall the original update, then install the newest one via download (not Microsoft Update).
