How Many Printers can U install on windows?

Recommended Posts

Hi...

We have Ricoh printer/copier/ scanner here @ my job....

My boss wants each print to be charged to a job....

So we set up the SAME printer..... w/ the same network address.... OVER & OVER again... with MULTIPLE NAMES... (JOB NUMBERS..)

We have 96 jobs.....

Hence we have 96 priniters....

The when we install 20printers....

on one machine...

The individual prints to the RICOH... by selecting a printer named after a job number....

The print comes out fine.... THE 1ST TIME!!!...........

When he or she tries again... half the printers are uninstalled and the printers that are still available .... freeze the computer up...

we then have to restart the computer....

and print again....

some of the printers are there and some aint....

I believe it has to do with the large number.... of printers....

Any truth to this theory.....

Thank you in advance....

I'm not really following your problem very well, but to answer your question; as far as I know, there is no limit to the number of printers you can use in Windows as long as you have the drivers installed for the printer. I have nearly a dozen installed on mine for the various printers I use at school.

There is no finite limit to the number of printers on a computer.

However, if you are using the same port for each one there may be an issue. I am not quite sure I understand why you need to have a seperate printer for each job. Perhaps you can explain this more and we can provide a better solution than just installing it over and over.
