When I configure it with my ISP details it works fine for a while and then the settings change and I have to configure it again? Any ideas? mcb2001 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Share Posted June 19, 2007 first thing i would check, is wether or not there is remote access available on the router, since alot of ISP's tend to "auto update" the firmware on routers, to a version they are familiar with.Actually, the first thing i would check, is wether or not power cable is damaged, the plug is damaged, the router has some loose connections - shake it, if there is something inside rattling arround its definetly wrong. And then check the "reset" button, to see if its loose, or halfway pressed down by some dust or like.This is because a lag of power, or a loose or halfly pressed reset button will reset all your settings... Michael___ Posted June 20, 2007 Report Share Posted June 20, 2007 Assuming your router is just sporadically losing its settings, and there is no other issue causing the problem (like your ISP). It's probably just some flaky NVRAM in your router, which means it should be replaced. If your ISP owns the router, you could just complain to them and have them come out and replace it. Spaz Posted June 21, 2007 Report Share Posted June 21, 2007 If its causing that much trouble, you should just replace it with commonly used router such as D-Link, or Linksys. The headaches and amount of time put into small routers isnt worth it.
