new network

I have a home computer which connects through a wireless router and cable modem to the internet. I am now trying to set up a home network so that my laptop can access the files on the home computer and vice versa. At the moment my laptop connects to the internet by wireless. I have a belkin router which works fine. I have named both the computers and have given them the same workgroup. When i view workgroup computers i can see both computers. But i can only access the laptop files from the home computer,when i try to access the home computer files from the laptop i get the following message 'the home computer is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission. The network path was not found.'

I would appreciate any help in this matter,
