Mr. Dillinger Posted July 5, 2007 Report Share Posted July 5, 2007 I have XP on a drive which is partitioned into a C and D drive. I want to basically format C then do a clean reinstall of XP on C. Is the best way to do this to boot on a bootable CD and format C then install XP via CD or is it to boot from the XP and use the fdisk tool? Boris Posted July 5, 2007 Report Share Posted July 5, 2007 Personally, I would boot from an XP CD and re-install after deleting the existing C partition, creating a new C partition in the same space, doing a quick NTFS format of C and then installing there.
