professionalnet Posted July 21, 2007 Report Share Posted July 21, 2007 I'll get one thing straight with all of you, i'm a CISCO certified PC Technician, and my own computer is giving me a headache!I recently did a fresh install of Windows XP Service Pack 2 onto my laptop. I enjoy it better than I do the XP MCE that this notebook came with. I began downloading the ATI Radeon drivers, the Atheros drivers, and then the Realtek HD audio drivers. I installed all of them, restarted, then upon the attempt of using both Internet Explorer or firefox, I noticed it will not connect to any desired webpage. However, Yahoo messenger and Steam will connect to their servers. I began to diagnose my computer, and upon disabling my Realtek HD audio, Firefox and Internet Explorer both work. I've done everything I thought that I could do, and began to google it with no avail. Any comments?Attached is a picture of my device manager. Ignore the three "PCI Flash memory" listings. -pops- Posted July 21, 2007 Report Share Posted July 21, 2007 I know nothing about laptop computers but, I might be able to give you a clue.If I had this problem in a desktop (and I have had similar problems in the past) I would move the respective cards to different PCI slots to change the IRQs that each used.Any use? However, if I get any system error, music, etc.. Anything coming through my soundcard, I must then disable the Realtek HD drivers and restart my notebook in order for both Firefox and Internet Explorer to operate.
