russb
I have been running Windows XP pro on my computer for some time now and am looking to upgrade to Media Center (i have the disks for the 2004 version)I have one small question, is there a way where i can upgrade XP Pro to Media Center without having to format my hard drive. I can backup my files if needed but it would be easier if i could upgrade the OS.Thanks!
-pops-
Is your XP full retail or OEM?The rules covering eligibility to upgrade can be complicated, especially if it's the 2004 version you have. Check out http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/WindowsXP/upgrade.phpPersonally, I wouldn't bother upgrading as there is a great danger of messing things up if you have a currently working system and you try to alter it.
