Mouse Settings

Hi all,

I need to know how to transfer mouse settings (that come by default) from XP to Vista and vica versa. I use a Microsoft "Wheel Mouse Optical" with pointer precision turned on, but it's always different from system to system even if I change the pointer precision options to the exact same -- I've been told this is because the registry defaults are switched around a lot (which can't be edited anywhere in the control panel). I've also been told Vista uses a different registry setup for mouse/precision settings, but I'm not sure I believe this. I hope it's not true, because I need these settings to be exactly the same as my home machine, regardless of the system I'm on (always XP and Vista).

So if anyone could fill me in on this, I'd REALLY appreciate it. (And if I need to reword anything, please let me know.)

Welcome to the Windows Forum.

Sorry you didn't get a reply earlier. And sorry also that I cannot give you a definitive answer.

Most probably the drivers for XP and Vista are different, therefore "identical" settings may still result in different behaviour. And even if the drivers were equivalent, their behaviour may cause different actions on XP and Vista.
