bryan.allen
Since I bought this notebook, it has been trying to install these updates on Vista. Every day it tries....it restarts.....sits there for about 30 minutes while it is "configuring updates" then it restarts. The problem is that the updates fail every time. The error code is 800F0816. I dont know if this is common or not but google didnt help me. Can any of you please help me? It sucks to restart every day for nothing. Thanks

nellie2
I've done a quick search of the Vista newsgroups and kb articles, I can't find anything on that error coded. I suggest you contact MS directly and see what they have to say. http://support.microsoft.com/ph/11732
pa1916
Take a look at your Firewall if your running Zonealarm it can cause this error, because it sounds if the upates are getting blocked. Is Windows Firewall turned off and Windows Defender turned off you don't require them if your running another internet security suite.
