PaulC Posted September 4, 2007 Report Share Posted September 4, 2007 I have a version of Windows Server 2003 that has been sitting around, and I am not sure if it has already been installed/activated. I don't want to go through the hassle of installing it and then trying to activate it, and find out it already has been.Is there a way to check? What I did was to phone Microsoft see here for UK numbers click here.They are very helpful. You will be asked the key that you are enquiring about and they tell you if it is new or not. -pops- Posted September 4, 2007 Report Share Posted September 4, 2007 In my case it was because I found an XP disk in an opened pack, but which also had its COA sticker with it, in my spares box. I thus thought that either I'd had a senior moment when building a machine and not provided the disk/COA with it or that it was new and unused and for some reason its envelope had been opened.When I enquired of MS they entered the product key into their database and it turned out that it was an unused disk.
