Running a Win2K3 server farm, with no linux servers in the mix.I have a NET VIEW issue in our domain. From everything I read, net view is above the layer-2 and layer-3 worlds. Therefore, the switches should not be effecting the applications effectiveness. We do not have WINS enabled, and ports 135 thru 139 are blocked. I read a Microsoft article that stated port 445 with SMB had rolled up the Net View function.Interestingly enough seems that the net view application cannot traverse vlans, or other segments that the router knows, to get it's info.Thats what confuses me, I thought that WINS would be required in a domain to make this work, while still blocking the 135 thru 139 range.Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated, this has almost made me a bald headed man ( pulling ore hair out).
