fugtig Posted September 29, 2007 Report Share Posted September 29, 2007 Hello, I'm one of the developers of the newly started project called PINA, PINA is a web-application/client based project revolving around the concept of creating an apt-get like environment on windows.APT-Get is an application management system in Linux Debian based distros, which allows users to easily search, download and install applications of their choice, we aim to make a similar system on windows which we've currently named PINA, it's not a complete clone of apt-get, but it's based on the same ideas, such as searching a database of applications, and downloading them on demand.PINA currently consist of two parts, a client and a web-application, the client "connects" to the web-applications and gets a repository list in which a user can search, and download+install from, this is to make it easier for the common user to find applications they might need and simplifying the process of downloading / finding the appropriate place to download from.We have no aim to make this for any other platform than windows, as it's based on an already fully functional application in Linux.You can find pina here: http://Pina.plasmite.comRegards PINA - development team.
