MongolPay Posted October 1, 2007 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 Hello guys!I used to lock my private files with FolderLock software and after installing XP after Vista , now i can't boot into Vista. My files are locked with Vista.I tried the ways to boot into Vista like using BCEDIT and others, i can't make it work. -pops- Posted October 1, 2007 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 This is passing the buck but, here goes:I'm not familiar with Folder Lock but, the first thing I would do in situations like this is contact the supplier of the software and seek their advice. You never know, it could be a new problem to them and by sending the information you could be helping others in the future if the makers are able to sort it out.I'm always very cautious about using these file locking programs. Many years ago I used Steganos Safe as a try out. After a few uses the software itself forgot the password (I am absolutely certain I used the correct one) and nothing I or Steganos could do would release the contents of the "safe". There is still an old hard drive in my junk box somewhere which contains a completely inaccessible set of files.Having said all of the above, do you really need to lock your files away like that? I first read this as you not being able to access your files but, having seen your other thread, I now see that you are unable to boot into Vista.My comments about the unnecessary use of passwords and encryption still applies though.
