r4may
I use XP pro 32bit on a 64bit system as when I tried to use the XP pro 64bit i could not get some of the hardware drivers for the system which HAVE to be 64bit, how ever I was able to run 32bit programs such as Wordperfect OK but would not quarantee all 32bit programs would work. Theoretically they should be OK but the advantages of 64bit code is not usable.Rather than upgrade all my main user programs to 64bit versions I stayed with the 32bit as the replacement cost was not justified. strra
anyone?!?most games should work, but many games have problems installing as the 64bit registry is different than the 32bit. a good example is Final Fantasy XI. when x64 was first released, PlayOnline wouldn't install. you had to install on a x32 machine and transfer the files to your x64 machine. square-enix eventually fixed this problem with a downloadable redistributable of the playonline softwarethe 3rd party windower software also had many issues running on 64bit windows until someone took it upon themselves to write a 64bit version
