Uploading website to Windows 2003 Server

Hello there,

I have never worked with a dedicated server before so I am a total beginner to this. I have made a website locally on my computer at work. My boss has given me an IP address, username and password to connect to the server which I can connect to it using windows remote desktop. I am using Windows XP on my local machine by the way. I am desperately in need of help how I go about this, I have tried all day to do this and my boss isn't happy with my lack of knowledge on how to do this. I first tried to connect to the server through an FTP client but failed, I got in touch with the company that the domain was set up with and they sent me an email showing me how to set up FTP on the server. I went away and did this so there is now a folder on the server waiting for me to put all the files into. I set this up by running IIS on the server and right clicking on FTP sites and adding one then clicking on Start. Please can someone tell me how I get my website uploaded to this server and what I do once I've done this so I can goto the web address and see my site online.

When I get in work tommorow I will be expected to set this up before I leave *ouch* or else....could be my neck on the line.

You wrote that you set up FTP on the server; can't you now just connect to it with your local FTP client?

If not, is that server on your network? If so, can you share a folder, then connect to it with your local machine (Windows Explorer), and move the web data to its destination? Or the other way around: share the web folder on your local system, then pull it up from the server?

Other possibilities: upload to a file sharing system, then download it from the server (via remote desktop)? Zip it up and send my email?

There are probably other possibilities, but the normal option is really via FTP.
