Hi,

Had a client that fried her laptop, real mess - would not boot, \windows\system32\config\system error. got the hard drive out, got the data off except one 1.9gb earthlink mail file, will not copy so its partly hosed - installed the app and cant get to the entire file, it somehow co-existed in her crap laptop so I needed to get it started again - copied the system file from \windows\restore and when I booted up it prompted for the install cd - I should have known better, but I went forward, entered keys the works and now what I am left with is a new install with all of the original folder and window files in place, but not program icons, nothing - anyway to move back in time to the old install so I can attempt a in-place upgrade?

Thanks, Kurt

does anybody know the files that need to be swapped to attempt a boot of an old version? all the originals are still in the \repair and other directories - thanks
