AKS
HiRecently I managed to get some Spyware on PC, which was making my web browser redirect to www.search-daily.com every time I did a search in google or any other search engine. I am using Windows XP.I though I found a fix for this (on another website) which advised me to a tool called 'SmitfraudFix', which can be found on the following website: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php. So, I downloaded this, and ran it according to the instructions, but this has caused a number of problems. Firstly my computer was hanging, with a blue background (after the welcome screen in Windows XP). I found out that the problem for this was the Video Driver - so I installed this in Safe mode and re-booted. That fixed that problem. However I have 2 further problems since running SmitfraudFix . These being:1) I keep getting the following Windows XP error message, everytime I go into Windows Explorer or Control Panel: "mw3y71q1.exe has encountered a problem & needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".2) I have lost my connectivity to my ADSL /modem. I contacted my ISP, who has advised me that there is a problem with my Windows XP.I suspect the 'mw3y71q1.exe' error is possibly related to the loss of connectivity to my internet. Please can you help me resolve these problem...........Would appreciate any advice, because I've been banging my head against a brickwall for the last few days and I cannot seem to find a find for the 'mw3y71q1.exe' problem anywhere on the internet.....Appreciate your time..........Thanks. Suriv
It seems like your system is infected with spyware.I'm new here so I don't really know if there's a "spywareforum" on WF or not, but in any case, you can ask for help at a specialized forum like SWI. I recommend to run a full scan with http://housecall.trendmicro.com/If the problem(s) persist, follow the steps indicated in this article http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal...ntion:_Overview
